Jessica Sims-Fink

FOUNDER, Alvin n’ Pals

Growing up with three dogs and a semi-feral cat, Jess developed a deep love and respect for animals from a young age. That passion eventually led her to take a leap of faith in 2018, leaving her marketing career to launch Alvin n’ Pals and pursue her dream of building a business centered around animal care.

After a successful first year, Jess & Alvin relocated to Invermere, BC, where they spent several years enjoying life in the Columbia Valley. During this time, she returned to her marketing roots, gaining valuable corporate experience before eventually moving back to Calgary.

After three years working in marketing in Calgary, Jess made the decision to return to what she truly loves and is now relaunching and growing Alvin n’ Pals with a renewed focus and long-term vision.

Jess is a proud pet mom to Alvin and her grey tabby cat, Jax. Outside of work, you’ll often find her at the pottery studio creating ceramics, or enjoying time biking, knitting, baking, and reading (ideally in the sunshine).

The reason this adventure started.

Spending evenings and weekends with his human, Jess, simply wasn’t enough for Alvin. Little by little, he convinced her to leave her office job and spend her days doing what they both love: being around dogs.

Alvin is a German Shepherd / Collie rescue from AARCS with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He loves dogs, cats, and humans alike, and brings a friendly, social energy to every pack he’s part of.
